None. I just wanted to see if you had a faster HD in the mix as I'd go with that.

But if you eventually upgrade, the best performance boost of all can be had from an SSD.

Oh that's what you were concerned about? Speed? Lol. Yeah I'm upgrading to SSDs ASAP lol. However, remember that you & I are on 2 different levels. The MOST data savvy programs I run are Fruity Loops & light gaming. This machine alone can handle CoD, GTA, Saints Row 3, etc...But, even those rely on this Nvidia card. The drive is fast enough for my tasks. My major concern is internet speed but, that's a different fight for a different day. I'm about to start the installation process. I'll keep posting via mobile.

Good luck. Stick with the steps, especially re: drivers.

Oh I already got all the neccessary drivers & applications I want from Acer. Luckily everything I wanted & needed was there. I may have issues with Dolby Home Theatre V4 but, I'll wait to see what happens...

Did you even read the section on drivers in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7?

Except for having the wireless or ethernet driver ready in case it isn't provided, use the drivers given by the installer and optional Windows Updates, until all Updates are installed. Only then would I import any drivers which are still missing in Device Manager. Ask if you have any questions.

Only change out drivers if performance dictates doing so. This is not XP. Windows 7 is the authority on its own drivers.

Yeah I read it. The issue is that the Dolby Home Theater V4 program only comes pre-built in with the Acer Windows 7 OEM. I many be able to find it but, at this point, it's not a major loss for me.

Good news guys. As it turns out, the Dolby Home Theater suite lies in an audio driver update. Acer installed a generic driver just to get sound. Something told to try installing the driver anyway to see what happens. Last thing on the list is clear.fi.

So you've done a Clean Reinstall?

How is performance?

Thanks. No hiccups so far. Everything's running smooth. Best part is, I finally found clear.fi. I had it all along lol. In order to get to it,, you have to have Show hidden files, folders, drives enabled. It lies in the directory C:\OEM\Preload\Autorun\APP

There's also other apps that are pre-install OEM apps that people may want. I found on a few other forums that people couldn't find clear.fi for download but, still wanted the app. Any good file hosting sites? What is your opinion on the best way to get this out there?

Windows Live Skydrive is a good free storage and sharing choice. I root my User files in the Skydrive folder so they Sync to the cloud. Any of them I want to share I can specify how it's done, even send invitations by email.

What exactly is this OEM app and how was it extracted? I only have seen how to Extract HP 3rd Party Software from RecovCD. Remember that most software is copyrighted for single-use, although technically you own a copy which came with the PC.
