Need advice on batch file for moving files using Send To

Okay, here's what I want to do. I want to be able to have an entry in my "Send To" submenu to move (not copy) whatever files I have selected to "C:\Hold"

With my very limited knowledge of batch files, I made a simple .cmd file that I put in the Send To folder with the following line:

move %1 C:\Hold

It works, kinda. However, it doesn't move all of the selected files to C:\Hold. It only sends the file I actually right-click on to bring up the menu. I know this must be a simple fix, but I'm at a loss on it.

Hello Jan & Kelly, and welcome to Seven Forums.

If you like, you could use the tutorial below to add Move to Folder to the context menu for this.

Context Menu - Add Copy To Folder and Move To Folder

Hope this helps,

Yeah, I saw that, but I'm looking for a one click solution, hence the idea of adding a shortcut to the batch file to the "Send to" folder.

With the "Move to..." option, I still have to manually browse to and select the folder in question. It would be no faster than a cut and paste.

I simply want to know how to modify my existing cmd file to move all selected files, not just the one that gets clicked on.
