Maroonblue,
The update was a large one and had like 14 or 15 sections. I would turn the system on and leave it for at least 10 minutes and then report back if it didn't eventually move past the loading stages. If anything I would try to restore back to before the updates when the system was working as normal. Then from there check for updates and proceed installing the suggested updates.

i've tried restoring to a earlier point but it still didn't work. Also sometimes after i get pass the microsoft logo it will just turn black and not show the log in page at all. Whenever i do get to the log in page it will start to lag really bad before i can type in my password. I have looked all over the forum trying to find a solution but none is working atm. Do you think a system recovery might fix? i know i will lose my files but at this point my computer is more important than what i have in there

They may not have all installed or still have some cued on your Shutdown button. Try a few more reboots, check for Updates to get them cycled through fully.

If it still hangs boot into Win7 System Recovery Options to run System Restore to before the Updates.

Then install Updates again in smaller groups. If it chokes again, Restore again and install those Updates singly until you isolate the problem Update, post it back in our Updates forum.

If this isn't sufficient, run Startup Repair a few times.

If that fails work through these steps for Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Boot

MaroonBlue,

In addition to the sound advice you've received:

some updates can take forever and a day.
You will swear that the system is hung.

Whenever you think an update is hung, then:
CTRL+SHIFT+ESC key combo (you hold down CTRL and SHIFT, while holding them down then tap the ESC key) |
Application tab |
you will see that Window Update is Running.
