Windows resume loader stalled

Hi - I hope someone could assist me please
My computer starts to load out of hibernation but gets stuck on a black screen with "last attempt to resume the system failed,do you want to resume again?
"Continue with resume" and "delete restoration data and proceed to system reboot" are the two options given but the arrow key or the enter key do not work
I have googled for awhile And find that the usb controller in the BIOS can turn off but I cannot access using f8,f anything nor can I reboot using the original disc,I have quickly moved and replaced the battery - no help.
Could someone advise what next as I have important accounting information frommy business on the hard drive
Cheers

Did not get a reply but just wanted to let others know what fixed the problem
I was advised to get a ps2 keyboard and connect it up,this immediately allowed me to access the BIOS,reset defaults and away we went
Cheers
