Hi everyone,
So about 9-10 months ago, I dual-booted some distro of linux onto my laptop. I then decided to remove it and I ended up getting this error. I eventually fixed it at the time and it seemed fine, until a few days ago.
A few days ago, I was using my laptop and, all of a sudden, my laptop started freezing. I eventually had to do a hard reset and got a 'Operating system not found' error. I then tried restarting it again and got the Boot/BCD error. So I popped in Windows install disc and tried repairing it and tried the commands in this
post. Some of the commands failed, but I believe the last command fixed it (for the time being).
Now about an hour ago, my laptop froze again, got a BSOD this time, got the 'Operating system not found' error again, and eventually the Boot/BCD error. Popped in the install disc again and tried the same things. Again, some of the commands failed and eventually worked itself out.
I'm pretty fed up with this happening and I want to solve this for good. I tried the stuff from this
article, but when I try the 'list disk' command, it can't find anything. Because of the 'Operating system not found' error, I'm tempted to believe that my hard drive is dying. Am I right in assuming this?
If you need anymore information, let me know!
