Laptop freezes when charger is inserted/removed

Asus UX31E,x64 Windows 7 Home Premium(I also had ultimate before reformatting)

I have an ASUS UX31E. Pretty much since I first got it I have been experiencing this problem.
The problem being that occasionally when I remove or insert the charger into the laptop, it freezes. By completely freezing I mean screen freezing and the only option being to hold down the power button to force a power down.

It only happens occasionally though, not every time I remove or insert the power cable. Sometimes maybe a few times a day or even a week.
There isnt really any immediate or obvious similarity in what I am doing at the time of freezing although I have a suspicion it could be to do with the graphics card as it most happens when i am full screening something.

I have reformatted a bunch of times and this is still a problem, so i suspect its hardware. But when I phoned the ASUS customer service they said that the engineers would have to be able to recreate the problem.
I dont know what exactly triggers it! So i have to find out before sending it to get repaired!!

This is what it said in Event Viewer after one of these hangs.
    Code:

Did you manage to resolve this issue?

    Dear Amishra,

I am encountering the exact same issue as you have described. I'd like to know whether you have managed to resolve this matter or is it an ongoing issue? Any advise you can give me to help me get to the bottom of the fault would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

While I have no "fix" for the issue, and do not have this problem on my Asus G74Sx, I can only say ....... if you know you'll have to plug in ( or out) just go ahead and save what you're doing. Plug in/out and then re-start. You COULD look for a possible bio's update. Asus seems to come out with those fairly regularly. Notice I said "fairly" regularly. Asus , and I'm not slamming them I love my G74Sx, has some of the worst customer "service" in the industry. But check for bio's updates, that may be the fix you're looking for.

Some system spec.'s wouldn't hurt either, as your posted "spec.'s" are for a desk top and not a lappy as the original poster. Not to mention Windows 8.
