    RunDLL-"There was a problem starting C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Temp

I am getting this error message when I boot my computer. I am running Windows 7 and do not know what it means. Can anyone give me some advice? I greatly appreciate it!!

    Here is the full message:

    RunDLL

"There was a problem starting C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Temp\
The specified module could not be found."

I have also attached a screenshot here.

Thank you soo much for any help!

A clean boot won't solve it, I think (?) It is a program that runs automatically on user logon.

    In registry check keys:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce

Most likely it's in one of the 2 HKEY_CURRENT_USER keys. Can you find it?

I had the same problem.I left it alone for months until it finally started bugging me enough. Here's what I did:
Click this link to download the program "Autoruns for Windows". Autoruns for Windows This program allows you to see everything that runs upon windows startup, login, etc. Extract the files and run "Autoruns" Click the logon tab since this file is attempting to run upon user logon. All the entries highlighted in yellow are the ones that are trying to run missing files. Simply locate the file path C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Temp\ (which will be highlighted in yellow), right click it and press delete. Then just restart your computer, the file will no longer attempt to run upon logon, therefore the error message will go away. I really hope this helps someone out because this problem was annoying me for months and months

    Thank you

Thank you for posting re: Autorun program. It solved my problem quickly and allowed me to delete other garbage left by uninstalled programs.

I would like to respectfully request that an administrator at these forums please confirm whether or not this link which I have quoted below is "safe." The poster who goes by the screen name "dcm488" has only one post in his entire posting history here at this forum, and THIS post where he offers us a "trust me" link for us to blindly click into is his one and only post.

    Thank you.

It is a safe site and long time trusted program, made by an Microsoft employee.

Usually browsers will let you hover over a link with your mouse cursor, and see a popup near the bottom of the full website address before clicking it.
