Having problems after disabling visual themes and desktop composition

I disabled them both to run Battlefield 3 smoothly, however after I closed the game this happens:

As you can see, there is no longer an image or picture whenever I hover my mouse cursor over any tab in the taskbar. I've tried re-enabling both visual themes and desktop composition but the problem still persists.

Make sure you've selected an Aero theme - it probably reverted to a Basic theme when you disabled those two items (aah, PC gaming...).

How exactly do I do that? I'm sorry but I'm not really familiar on the procedures. :/

Is this in the "change color scheme" department?

Right-click on your Desktop and go to Personalization. From here you can pick an Aero theme.
