    sidebyside 33 error

    I keep getting the following error in event log "sidebyside 33" and the details are:

    Activation context generation failed for "C:\Program Files (x86)\Verizon Wireless\VZAccess Manager\ATTExtension.DLL". Dependent Assembly Microsoft.VC80.MFC,processorArchitecture="x86",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",type="win32",versio n="8.0.50727.762" could not be found. Please use sxstrace.exe for detailed diagnosis. I am using a Verizon USB modem to access the internet and the software to run the modem is vz access manager. Also when I connect to the internet I get a box that pops up telling me that "windows has detected an ip address conflict". I have disabled the realtech Ethernet connection so I can not imagine what the conflict is. I have contacted Lenovo and they want $129 to do a clean up of my hard drive but my computer is only one month old. I have also contacted Verizon but they have been no help either.

    Welcome to the Seven Forums.

    1) Make sure that you have the latest version of vzaccess installed:
    VZAccess Manager
    If you already have the latest version installed, the move to step 2.

    2) Check your list of installed programs for
    Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package
    If it is not there - install it from here
    Download: Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64) - Microsoft Download Center - Download Details
    If it is there and the errors persist - re-install both vzaccess and the C++ software

    For others that might find this thread and have a 32bit OS:
    Download: Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) - Microsoft Download Center - Download Details

    But did the side by side errors stop?

    As long as everything works - you can ignore that error or try this work around:

    No, the sidebyside errors still appear in the event log.
