    XP capabilities in Windows 8

I recently discovered that had I upgraded to Win 7 Pro, I could be using some of my older software on my 64 bit machine rather than on my old clunky laptop running 32 bit Win 7.
Does anyone have a clue about the XP capabilities of Win 8? Would it be stupid to fork out the $90 to upgrade to Win 7 Pro now, or will it be some time before Win 8 can be proven not to choke on older software?

    Thanks, Rich

It it doesn't work with Windows 7 it will not work with Windows 8.

Like stated, If it won't run on Win 7 it will not run in Win 8. you need to install XP into a virtual Machine to run that older software.
