Did Windows 7 come preinstalled on the PC? Is there a COA sticker with Product Key on it attached to the machine? It should list your licensed version. If so then Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.
If this is retail Windows 7 and you lost the key, then you needed to audit the Winy Product Key from the old installation it was installed upon before overwriting it with a new install. Do you have a backup image of your old install which was activated with the Product Key?
If not then you'll have to buy a new key because the Product Key is required to reinstall.
