Photo screen saver error

Hi,

I have a photoscreensaver error that reads as follows:

Photoscreensaver.scr Entry Point Not Found

The procedure entry point DwmHintDxUpdate could not be located in the dynamic link library USER32.dll

It comes on when the screensaver starts, I have go no screen saver organised, the screen just goes black, then when I move the mouse the black screen goes and the above is in a box. It is possibly related to a rolling wallpaper I am using from my photos folder.

Has anybody got any ideas? Ultimate 64bit RTM

Regards

Neville

Hello Neville.
Do any other screen savers work?

Should have checked first eh!
The problem is solved, but may help someone else.
The problem is that I am running dual boot and have a link to My Photos.
If I have the screen saver on My Photos it will not work. But if I have the screen saver on a subdirectory of My Photos it works fine. This is no problem to have it set like that as I like to change my screensaver photos from time to time as I have 6000 photos

That is rather interesting..... Why would it do that? Unless the My Photos folder is the library, which is not technically a folder....

My Photos not a folder

Exactly right LordBob. It's the link to the folder on another hard drive.

That is probably why then. I cannot explain why it is not working, but by putting an actual folder instead, it should work. So if you want to create a screen saver folder, and just vary pictures... It is up to you.
