    Snippping Tool won't save

    Hello, everyone -

my favorite Win 7 app, the "Snipping Too", won't save any of the captures.

I can open the program, crop as I please, then the save box comes up. Right after you click save another box should open and ask for the location to be saved. This doesn't appear and so images are not saved.

What can I try because its a must have program, I don't want an alternative.

Thanks in advance for the help.

    Hi,

Can you please open your registry editor and check to see that the following is set as shown in the image below?

I don't see any cropping tools for the 'snipping tool' program--I just save it to my desktop and then open in MS Paint or another photo editing app and crop it there

I think he is referring to the 'rubber-banding' when you capture the image. The Save issue is often caused by the user deleting the My Pictures folder in the library.

I don't use the Snipping tool. I used MWSnap in XP and, after trying the Snipping Tool in Win7, I still prefer MWSnap.

Yes, I must have trashed it when I was changing win libraries from my C
    to my Data partition.

    Would you know the fix?

OK. The only thing I can think of is to perform a system restore prior to a point in time when you deleted them. Do you have system restore points before the delete?

I got a Macrium backup, but like two images back and almost two months back. I would hate to revert to that time and have to reinstall my games and appz. I should have asked earlier I had been too busy with work and RL. But if I must I will, because the snipping tool is the best thing since sliced bread.

    Thanks for answering Golden!

Hold on - lets see if someone else knows how to fix this manually. I'll ask around for more help.
