Problem with some keys not responding on keyboard

Some keys on my keyboard are not responding to actions. The keys that I know are still working are `,1,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0,-,=,q,w,e,r,t,y,u,i,o,p,[,],\,s,h,;,',x,c,b,m,,,',the Space bar, backspace, and the Caps lock. I'm using On-Screen Keyboard to type this.

If this problem has just occured what did you do immedatley before it first happened? Have you tried a system restore? Have you got access to a spare keyboard that you could use?

I have started using this laptop the first time after having puting it away. I don't have a spare keyboard that I can use.

You can try, as a user said it before, restoring your computer to an earlier point. Or otherwise, you can check other keyboards from control panel.

If the system restore does not have any effect then as this notebook has been in storage and not used for we don't know how long then I think a trip to the repair man is called for. It is probably poor contacts to the ribbon behind the keyboaurd. It might even need a new keyboard!
