Are you installing the drivers for the Belkin PCMCIA card on a machine running Windows 98 or a Virtual Machine running Win 98?
If you are trying to install the drivers on a Win 7 machine, they aren't going to work, you'll need to check the Belkin website to see if there are Vista or Win 7 drivers available for the card. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Home Built, Dell Inspiron 1520 Laptop OS Win 7 Ultimate (64-bit), Win 7 Pro (32-bit) CPU 3.4Ghz 3770K i7, 2.4Ghz Core 2 Duo Motherboard Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H, Dell Memory 8G, 3G Graphics Card ATI Radeon HD 5770, Mobile Intel 965 Sound Card High Definition Audio (Built-in to mobo) Monitor(s) Displays Dell 2409W 24" Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard IBM Model M - used continuously since 1986 Mouse Microsoft PSU Antec Case Antec 100 Cooling CM 212+ Hard Drives 128G SSD OS; 1.5T & 2T Data on Desktop, 320G for laptop Internet Speed 1.5M down 1.2M up :-( Other Info Also have an Acer Aspire netbook, a home-built AMD Dual core (Minecraft server) and home-built Pent 4 all running Win 7. Also have various machines running XP, Win Server 2K, Win Server 2003, Linux and DOS. I think I have a problem... |

Him trying to install on windows 98 but the cd won't run says illegal operation? I am a curious type, why are you asking a question about Windows 98 in a Windows 7 newsgroup?
A Google search for Windows 98 Forums will yield several results for groups that offer support and help for your version of Windows. I believe you will do better posting your question in one of them. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom Built OS Windows 7 Home Premium x64 CPU Intel i5 quad processor Motherboard DP67BG Memory 16 GB Graphics Card Radeon HD 5770 Sound Card Realtek High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays Samsung SyncMaster Screen Resolution 1920X1080 Keyboard MS Wireless Mouse MS Optical Wired PSU Corsair GS800 Case Tower (Generic) Cooling 3 Internal Fans Hard Drives WD 2TB (SATA Internal)

You didn't answer my question about if you were installing on a VM running on Win 7 or a physical machine running Win 98. If you are trying to install Win 98 drivers in a VM then I could see you posting here in a Win 7 forum but if you're on a machine running Win 98 then there are better forums to answer your question. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Home Built, Dell Inspiron 1520 Laptop OS Win 7 Ultimate (64-bit), Win 7 Pro (32-bit) CPU 3.4Ghz 3770K i7, 2.4Ghz Core 2 Duo Motherboard Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H, Dell Memory 8G, 3G Graphics Card ATI Radeon HD 5770, Mobile Intel 965 Sound Card High Definition Audio (Built-in to mobo) Monitor(s) Displays Dell 2409W 24" Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard IBM Model M - used continuously since 1986 Mouse Microsoft PSU Antec Case Antec 100 Cooling CM 212+ Hard Drives 128G SSD OS; 1.5T & 2T Data on Desktop, 320G for laptop Internet Speed 1.5M down 1.2M up :-( Other Info Also have an Acer Aspire netbook, a home-built AMD Dual core (Minecraft server) and home-built Pent 4 all running Win 7. From the most recent post by the OP, I took his statement "Him trying to install on windows 98 but the cd won't run says illegal operation?" to mean he's trying to install on Windows 98. Of course, I could easily be wrong and clarification would be helpful. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom Built OS Windows 7 Home Premium x64 CPU Intel i5 quad processor Motherboard DP67BG Memory 16 GB Graphics Card Radeon HD 5770 Sound Card Realtek High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays Samsung SyncMaster Screen Resolution 1920X1080 Keyboard MS Wireless Mouse MS Optical Wired PSU Corsair GS800 Case Tower (Generic) Cooling 3 Internal Fans Hard Drives WD 2TB (SATA Internal)
