If I remember correctly their are several Office programs that use Java. Just test on one computer. Remove Java and see if everything works as you want it to. If they don't; install Java back on the computer. I understand your security concern with Java. I have no Java on my computer at this time but the programs I use are most likely not the same programs you use.

I'll just take the plunge and remove Java and wait for the fallout. I'd rather get chewed out for doing that instead of for being lax on security.

Honestly? I'm sick of dealing with it. I uninstalled Blackberry Desktop Manager (I don't even use it anymore because updating my phone is a pain), but I'm wondering how to tell if anything else needs java. Is there a program that will scan my computer and tell me what programs need Java? thanks.

How To Track Program Dependencies?
A program that I want to use (MyDVDCatalog) pops a dialog saying that comdlg32.dll or one of it's dependencies is missing, but the file does exist, and I have also run regsvr32 to ensure that it is registered. Therefore, I assume that what ever is missing is a dependency of the dll. How would one...
