Hello kttyxkat3 and welcome to Seven Forums.

It's possible that your format/reinstall was corrupted in some way (bad disk, computer glitch, etc.) Without knowing exactly what method you used I can only point you to these tutorials for th specific steps that need to be taken:

    Clean Install Windows 7

Clean Install with a Upgrade Windows 7 Version

what error message do you get exactly?

Why did you format and reinstall? You already had major problems?

    In Elevated Command Prompt
    Code:
    sfc /scannow
    chkdsk/f c:
chkdsk asks you to perform the action after reboot, so respond Y (Yes)
Reboot and see if there are disk errors. Are there errors? .... repaired?

Sorry for the late reply, I did the scan and no errors appeared. I get a message saying that any file i try to install is corrupted (Norton, java, games, etc.) Although i somehow managed to install norton it is full of glitches although java seems to be working fine. I have a system repair disc for my laptop but I used the recovery partition to format .Do you think that may have caused some problems?
