Windows Explorer has stopped working.

Ok first of all im sirgail or giga from philippines and im new to the forum. I came here to seek help about my problem its been 3 days already been looking for a solution with my problem but no luck on finding a topic with same problem with me. I have no clue on how to fix this and im not an it expert so i hope anyone here can help me out.

whenever i click close the program or check online for a solution and close the program still it will popup again ( the error). Its annoying but somehow i manage to skip it by pressing ctrl+alt+delete task manager and click processes and end process the explorer.exe in order for me to use the internet and browse but the only problem is i cant go to "My computer" drives cause the error will popup again and i cant right click on the desktop and the task bar is not there cant even see the windows or press the windows startup. I hope anyone can help me out with this.

What codec pack are you using? Let us know and go through this thread for additional information.

thank you for the quick reply ms. koolkat77 but how do i know what codec pack my pc is using or where should i go to see the codec pack my pc has?

I'm aware of two.

They are Klite Codecs and Shark007's codecs.

• Click on the start rb:
• Type uninstall a program in search
• Scroll and see if you find any of these

Sorry for taking so long i need to boot again my pc and use safe mode cause the error keeps on popping out and since i end process the explorer.exe i cant see the task bar and the windows icon or by pressing the windows icon on my keyboard it still doesnt appear. Anyhow ive followed what you said and it seems i dont have both or any of it installed. What should i do next install one of it on my pc?

[1] Click on the start rb:
[2] Type command prompt, > right click and select run as administrator
[3] Type SFC /scannow

yeah i checked the link i need to reboot again and will follow the steps for troubleshooting by the way i dont need to install any codecs right?

You said you don't have any installed..so there's no question of uninstalling

Btw, upload screenshot/s of your programs in Uninstall a program/Add/Remove programs
