System Repair Won't go Beyond Language Selection

Hello!

Please forgive my ignorance, as I'm sure it will be evident all over this post...

My computer (running Windows 7 Home 64bit) got stuck in the bluescreen loop after a couple improper shutdowns... (the error was an unmountable boot volume - I don't have the specifics with me just now), so I've been trying to get into System Repair with a recovery disc, but I can't seem to get past the language selection screen. I select "US" and next and then just get a screen with a white cursor. The CD doesn't seem to be spinning or processing or whatever either.

I also tried reformatting a jump drive to NTFS and putting the recovery files on that, but there I can't even get to the blue screen and white cursor.

Any ideas for how to proceed? Any help is greatly appreciated.
