    Adding Registry Key

    I tried to add the following to my Windows 7 registry.

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Debug\\ehPresenter.dll]
    "NominalRange"=dword:1

    But get this error message whether I double click or merge the file.
    “Cannot import C:\filepath\WMCBlack.reg: Error accessing the registry.

    Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

    Try removing the double \\. replace with a single \.

    He may be a novice (we all were once remember) and not realise the potential danger! Any member offering advice regarding registry editing should always advise the creating of a backup. If the OP already knows about the danger then there is nothing lost. If she/he doesn't know then there's an awful lot to gain. Please don't make harsh judgments of others without really knowing them! Just a thought!

    I meant no offence just simply if he's going to mess around with the reg
    He would of understood the downside or so i hope :)

    you wouldn't get in the car without a seat belt on now would ya :)

    anyway I hope it solves his problem if he has or when he's back up'd the reg first

    That's very bold assumption just based on what you hope.
    As far a the seatbelt in the car is concerned you have illustrated my point perfectly. If you get in a car then your instructor will ensure you have the seat belt on before he will allow you to take control of the car. If you have passed your test you will know it is illegal to drive unless you are wearing a seat belt.

    Mitchell -- I just want to compliment you on your broad range of instruction. You made two excellent remarks here concerning backups while in another thread you instructed a poster to "Contemplate his Navel".
