hi,
I have gone experimental yesterday and installed ubuntu along side windows. But later realised that a bad idea and deleted the linux partition. Now I can be able boot into windows and everything is fine except my personal files partition d: drive just went missing from explorer......:-( but I can see 500 gb of free space in the disk management window....I have got 2 questions 1) are all my files are deleted?
2) how can I recover the partitions?

my hard disk is samsung ata 1tb ....it has 3 partitions c: f: and 100 of os space and 500 gb of free space( it cannot be allocated to any partition)

are you saying it made no change then?
If grub is gone and startup repair can't find windows, it's possible it's gone.

When having ubuntu installed, did system first show grub menu or win7 bootmenu?
Now you only see win7 bootmenu (or no menu at all), correct? ubuntu not shown anymore in menu?
-----------------------
C is and was Windows 7 partition, correct?
100 of OS space: You mean the 100MB "system reserved" partition?
F has the same contents it had before?

What was in the unallocated space??? I think the ubuntu partition was there(?) Where the heck was D?

Was D located in the 546GB "free space"?
So F was ubuntu. What did you do with it. Did you delete that partition and recreate it, or did you just format it as NTFS?

Download and install partition wizard Free download Magic Partition Manager Software, partition magic alternative, free partition magic, partition magic Windows 7 and server partition software - Partition Wizard Online
Take the free HOME edition. Perform a "partition recovery". Select "unallocated space" and "quick scan". Select all partitions it finds (if you think it's D drive). Also select even existing partitions!

Post disk management screenshot afterwards

Did you really delete the partition and recreate the partition? Created it the same size, smaller, larger? Is and was F just adjacent to C?

I just booted with windows system repair
and launched command prompt

Use the Bootrec.exe tool in the Windows Recovery Environment to troubleshoot and repair startup issues in Windows and did as stated and later deleted ubuntu partition through disk management

So you deleted linux partition. But F is still in disk management!! How is that possible?!

So you did a win7 startup repair. After that you ran disk management and ALL partitions were still there(?)
Then you deleted the linux partition which was somewhere in in 546GB free space area(?)

That's all you did?

Maybe... maybe not. What is on F now? It is an ntfs partition not a linux partition. You either changed the drive letter, so maybe it is what was called D previously.

Once again... did you manually recreate that F partition after deleteing the linux partition?

Did you perform a Partition Wizard "partition recovery" as asked before??
