Another day, same 0xc000000f error, god help me

Hello, I am requiring some expert help regarding my acer aspire 5551-A windows boot manager 0xc000000f error. It all started one day when I used my friend’s external hard drive to transfer some video files before that my laptop been working fine with no serious problems. Next day after I used his hard drive, my laptop started running very slow eventually it froze, upon restart I tried to undergo a windows repair which failed.
Now every time I try to boot up I get the following message “windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem: 1. Insert your windows installation disc and restart your computer. 2. Choose your language settings, and click next. 3. Click repairs your computer. If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance. Status 0xc000000f Info: boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible”
I do not have the original windows installation disk because I have lost the discs which I burnt when I first got my laptop. However I did borrow a windows 7 recovery disk from another friend. I tried to use repair your computer and install now options in which it did not get passed starting setup screen, it frooze.
I thought it would be my DW 250gb hard drive which I ran a health scan by using a pc engineer tool disk. It said it passed the test.
I phone my acer helpline, they were unhelpful. Also every time I hit alt-f10 I am unable to get into boot selection. Any ideas how to overcome this error?

God's assistants compiled the following page, Resolving stop (blue screen) errors in Windows 7, which is a generic link posted on a page referring to the code 0x0000000f. You tried one of the options, but you may have to explore all of them.
