Taskbar Icons For Activating A Choice of Programs

I seek instructions for creating an icon to place in the taskbar that will allow the launch of an app from a choice of mutliple apps. When I place the cursor over it and rmb the small display that appears will contain my desired programs.

    - thank you

    Hello MourningStar,

You might see if Quick Launch may be able to work for you for this.

Quick Launch - Enable or Disable

    Hope this helps,

RMB (Right Mouse Button) brings up a Context Menu so that won't work.

If Quick Launch doesn't do what you want (I use it), then maybe creating a new folder with links to the applications you want to run would work. Means you would have to close the folder once the app launched though.

Thnx Shawn - that is an alternative I will consider. However, I was hoping to have multiple taskbar icons to do this. For example, one icon with a doc-type graphic that would lead to a choice of Word, Notepad, Xcel, etc - maybe an art-graphic icon that would permit the choice of Paint, Photoshop, etc. - perhaps a media-graphic icon that would activate WMP, VLC, winamp, etc. etc. ...

On my system, when I rmb a taskbar icon, Paint for example, I get a small display with 2 items - one to execute the program and one to "unpin this program from the taskbar".

Right click on taskbar icon = Jump List

Shift + right click on taskbar icon = context menu

You might also give the free program 7stacks a try to see if it may work better for this.
