Sleep/Hybernate crashes my htpc (may be e-sata related)
I'm running a HTPC with the following configuration:
Asus AT5IONT-I motherboard (on board dual-core 1.8ghz Atom CPU, nVidia ION2 gpu)
4gb so-dimm ddr3
external 2tb HDD connected through e-Sata IcyBox docking station
Windows 7 x64, latest nVidia Drivers
The problem I have is that the pc won't go to sleep or hybernate. If I choose sleep the pc goes to sleep for a fraction of a second and then wakes immediately. If I chose hybernate it just crashes, ie: it seems to hybernate but when you turn it back on it boots regularly.
What I *think* may be the cause of this, is that I'm running windows on an external HDD connected through the e-sata port of the motherboard via a docking-station.
I say this only because a friend of mine has the exact same configuration EXCEPT he has an internal HDD, and doesn't have this problem. Other than that, I cannot think of other reasons why it shouldn't work.
Does anyone has any idea on how to solve, or even just properly diagnose, this problem?
Thanks in advance!
