Right, so I got my windows 7 to start normally. And by that I mean get to the Log in screen without going black.
But now it's on "Welcome" with the loading swirl and it has been for at least 20 minutes, not even joking. It's ridiculous.
I realize that I'm going to have to turn it off eventually, but anyone know what to do to prevent this in the future?

You could also run a system file checker scan from an elevated command prompt (option 2) to repair damaged or corrupt system files. If problems are found, run this scan 3 times rebooting in between each scan.
If still no joy, one of the Forum experts prepared these troubleshooting tutorials. They are time consuming but they've helped many solve their issues.
