Is this a driver, card and network which has worked before for Windows 7 on this PC?
Is the driver installed and not in error in Device Manager?
What does the connection Icon in bottom right System Tray say when you highlight it. Left click it to try to connect. If not rightclick it to run the Troubleshooter. What does it report?

In Device Manager - hardware give that driver is installed, but on system tray give that cable is unpluged and in adapter settings give that cable is pluged. When I connect this cable with another computer everything is ok.
I was just thinking Kris if you could get hold of a Ubuntu boot disk it will probably let you connect to the net and then you can get the drivers or whatever.
In any case mate I always keep one on hand for the awkward fixes where I can't get the machine to connect especially the board's Ethernet socket . Plus I can get stuff like diagnostics to work from it.
