Staying with windows 7, many ppl find new metro ui great, i find it disgusting!, also you must do millions of click to do simple task that in windows 7 you do in almost 1 click ( like shutdown, reboot, etc...)

    7 , 8 is garbage.

There is no reason to ever upgrade again.

Been using 8 for some time in a virtual machine environment for testing and I can say without any doubt the Win 8 is JUNK.

The Core OS may be just fine, maybe even a little better then 7, but what MS has done to the User Interface is just to much for me. Even after installing Classic Shell and getting the Start button back and going to the REAL desktop at startup I just fine the whole UI the worst. Why on earth do I have to click on a Picture to bring up a screen where I type in my Password?
Even in Mac OS X you don't have to do that.
MS you Screwed Up BIG TIME.

Ran XP for 9 years without any problems. I'll be running Win 7 for that long or longer.

I agree with you there Edwar, the core of it is very good, its very fast, but yes its a total pain in the butt trying to use it. I spent hours just trying to figure out how to do things, it's a nightmare, maybe they should have just released the core as a service pack to windows 7, it would have been awesome but of course they want to make money.

Just went from 2000 Pro to Win 7 -
I'm pretty sure I'll stay with Win 7.
    (And, maybe some Linux!)
