The configuration for this product is corrupt. contact your...

"The configuration for this product is corrupt. Contact your support personel " appears after ( starting windows). It does not go any further to load my desktop. I only get the option to press ok, which then just causes the screen to go black for a few seconds before bringing mr back to the same screen. Not sure what to do, please advise.

Did you have Windows 7 installation disc?

If you have, then follow this tutorial and go on the OPTION TWO to recover your computer.

Thanks for your response Jonathan, but I have tried that, but it doesn't seem to work. I have updated to sp1 which was not how the disc came. I have downloaded and burned paragon rescue kit 11 but don't know how to actually use it. Any advice?

What is the product? This message appears when there has been a change in a program/product, so in order to attempt a repair the name needs to be provided.

I am not sure if there is an issue with a product. Windows seems to boot, but following the "starting windows," the blue windows screen ( not bsod) comes up along with the message..

Have you tried booting to Safe Mode?

Restart your computer. Press F8 quickly if you see blinking cursor on top-left of the screen after BIOS is loaded. Then choose Safe Mode.

The message "The configuration data for this product is corrupt. Contact your support personnel." is generated by a failed software installation, upgrade or uninstall, which creates the message.

I suggest you check your installed programs list and see if you can determine what program has been recently installed changed or one you attempted to remove. You are the only one who is going to know the answer to that question.
