    Context Menu (Shortcut) Bug

I downloaded a older version (not realizing it) of Start Orb Changer by Kishan Bagaria and I set the Shortcut in the context menu to on. Later I realized it was an older version so I scraped it and went and downloaded the latest version. Still have the old version context menu shortcut in my context menu and I don't know how to get rid of it. I can't remember the version I had when I set it on. So does anybody know where the registry file for this shortcut in the context menu would be located so I can delete it?

    Hi

Have you tried reverting to default?
Have a look at Shawn's tutorial - New Context Menu - Remove & Restore Default Menu Items

Hope this helps in some way, keep us posted on the outcomes

    Thanks and regards

    Sorry, that didn't help.
All it told me was how to restore a icon/shortcut (like the "new folder shortcut) back to default.
I need to know how to remove a custom shortcut from my context menu completely.

This is where version 5 puts it:

If you are brave enough to be using these types of customizations, then I would hope that you already know how to create a restore point, backup/restore the registry and/or backup/restore an image of your system drive.

If the info that I posted does not help - please post a screenshot of your desktop context menu.

And post a link to any old versions of this software - even if you don't know which one you used.

I'm so sorry. I thought I uploaded a picture of my context menu in the first post!

You can correct the path and/or the file name in the registry to point to the file/version that you have and it should work again.

Or - like you said - you can carefully delete the key that I highlighted from the registry.

I fixed it. I went to the path you provided 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\DesktopBackground\Shell\Start Orb' and then all I did was delete the "Icon" and "Position" data.

Worked like a charm. Thanks UsernameIssues & Lomai for the helpful posts!
