Will windows7 start on "Simple" type partition?

I have an HP probook 4530s.

It has 500gb hard disk, and it had only one partition, so I used Easeus Partition manager to create multiple partitions, I shrink-ed the C partition to 100gb, and then I couldn't create partitions in Easeus, so I tried the built in Disk management utility, and created the partitions and I agreed upon converting all volumes to simple.

so long story short.

My laptop is turned on, the C partition is simple, now if I restart my pc, will the computer load into windows 7, or there will be problems?

Edit: If not, how do I convert the simple partition back to System?

MY WINDOWS HAS SENSITIVE DATA, CAN'T RISK IT.
Please help T_T

The problem is that you converted your HD to Dynamic which is only meant to be used to span a partition across multiple HD's. Apparently you didn't heed the warning message.

The solution to solve this non-destructively is to boot free Partition Wizard CD version 4.2 which is the last Partition Wizard version which still offers this as a free feature: pw422.zip ISO - Windows Live.

Back up your files now while it can still boot.

Download the PW ISO, rightclick to burn it to CD using Windows Image Burner, or use ImgBurn.

Boot CD. You will need to first delete the extra partition(s) you created which tipped it to convert to Dynamic before it will convert back to Basic.

Then follow these video steps: How to convert dynamic disk to basic disk with Partition Wizard?

After conversion if you want to add another partition while keeping the HP Recovery and Diagnostics Tools partitions bootable, the best method is to use PW to rightclick C to Modify>Set to Logical, OK, Apply. Then you can install as many adjacent Logical partitions as you need.

I'm not sure Media Builder is in PW v.4.2 which is the zip file linked. I believe the Media Builder starts in v.7.6 which has Conversion to Basic as a paid feature. So I'd try Golden's method posted above first or borrow or buy a CD if you want to use freeware. .

USB works now,
2 minutes remaining before the important files are copied to another usb. so I could restart the notebook.

I am really sorry, but windows just booted while on Simple volume.
Should I still follow your instructions and convert it to basic then logical, or should I just leave it be? which one is more safer?

You need to get a grip. Did you follow the steps exactly in How to convert dynamic disk to basic disk with Partition Wizard? If so there is no possibility that everything would just be gone. You had to do something else reckless.

What does the PW drive map say on it? Post back a camera snap if you can.

Pause and take a deep breath while you watch this video for how to try to Recover the partitions: Partition Wizard Partition Recovery Wizard Video Help.

But let us see whats on the PW drive map and listings first.

I did EXACTLY as the video said, but I didnt delete the partitions i had created.

I have recovered all the partitions. but the problem is, none of them have a drive letter,
and the option to change the drive letter is disabled.

I think everything will be fine if and only if I could just add the driveletter.

The steps I gave you clearly said before conversion to first delete the partitions you created which tipped disk to Dynamic. There also were clear warning messages that this was about to happen which you ignored.

You can now boot into Win7 which is correctly on C? But you cannot add other partition Drive Letters - Add, Change, or Remove in Windows 7 - Windows 7 Forums?

Use FREE Rescue Kit Express | PARAGON Software Group

Boot the Paragon CD - select Normal Mode , then Boot Corrector.

Correct drive letters in the system registry.

Release any incorrect letter first, if necesssary.

See the above post, it contains the image i took.

Edit: what will be the driveletter of system reserved partition?

You are looking at the Paragon booted CD drive map which never has drive letters. Can you boot into Win7 now?

If not confirm System partition is marked Active, then on PW drive map click on HD to highlight it, from Disk tab select Rebuild MBR: Partition Wizard Rebuild MBR Video Help.

If Win7 doesn't start run Startup Repair - Run 3 Separate Times

I am still downloading the paragon thing, but its .exe how am i supposed to write it to usb(again since i can't go and get a blank cd)

and no, I can't boot to windows, as it does not have a drive letter.
