Windows 7: Windows automatically logs in when in standby

When I log off of my profile, but leave the computer on, after a certain amount of time, it always logs in to the first user profile in the list, which starts with an A. I have looked on how to stop this from happening but can't find how. It doesn't effect the performance at all,m but is kind of annoying to have to log off of that profile and log in to another. Thank you.

Hello ksartguy, and welcome to Seven Forums.

That's odd that it will log in automatically like that from just being idle in the log on screen.

Here are a few of things to check to see if it they may help. Links included for how. :

Have Require a password on wakeup set to Yes, and click on OK.
Check the Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer box, and click on OK.
Check the On resume, display logon screen box, and click on OK.

Thanks for the help. The bummer is that I didn't have any luck. After making the changes on your first 2 suggestions, I logged off of my profile and let it set. after about a half hour, I checked and it was logged in to the first user profile on the list, as before. Everything you said should have worked, so I'll keep playing around.

Strange. Do all of the accounts have a password created for them?

No, Mine is set up as admin with a password. All the rest do not. I have user names that start with A, B, K, L and P. Mine is the K, but when it sets in standby, it always logs in the the A profile. It has me stumped.

As a test, you might create a password for it to see if it gives a log on screen afterwards.
