repartition problem

    repartition problem


    Hi everyone,

    I was trying to re-partition my hard disk. I go through all the procedure but it is showing an error. I had shrink the volume but I am unable to allocate it. I'm uploading snapshot for more detail showcase of my problem kindly tell me a solution..

    I think it is complaining because you already have 3 Primary Partition and an Extended Partition.

    Option 1
    Can you expand D to use the unallocated space?

    Option 2

    Back up the contents of D and then delete it.
    Reallocate the combined space (30 + ~98 = ~128 GB) as 2 Logical drives.

    You can add a Logical partition in the Unallocated space using free Partition Wizard which is more flexible in this particular operation than Disk Mgmt.

    GParted is another option.

    Given the choice, I'll use GParted before Windows Disk Management every time.
