How many GB does Windows 7 use after I install it? - Microsoft Community

You can either get a bigger SSD and re-install your OS or keep the current SSD and install a mechanical drive and just use the SSD for your OS and your mechanical drive for everything else.
The OP has not installed anything other then Windows. He has 16BGs of RAM so Windows will create a 16GB pagefile. And then the default hibernate size will be 16GBs so all contents of RAM can be written to the drive if needed.
TY so much!

41.3GB free now! I did not see a hybrid sleep option or anything so I am just going to say I don't have it on here. And you 100% sure changing pagefile doesn't slow it down?
thanks for help. Now I can have a few games too on my SSD! also what is that 99.99 mb system drive?

Maybe this link will help you disable it. It is fairly straight forward. No you won't see the Hiberfil.sys file as it is hidden and there really isn't any Graphical User Interface windows to enable or disable it (well there is but it is berried in the advanced power options).

99.99, 100MB System Reserve partition is where Windows put the Boot files. Don't fool with that.

I understood that.. lol. I think because I didn't update everything and such it was a little different or something. It works now though! GTA IV installing to my SSD
