Screen Saver Shuts Itself Off

I'm running MS Windows 7 Home Premium on a Dell laptop.

Nomally, the screen saver works as expected. About half the time, after I log off and shut down, the screen saver is not enabled when I restart.

Have you got anything running in the background that might change it?

Hi,

If this issue started occurring after doing some recent software changes on your computer, then I would suggest you to restore your system back to a date when it was working fine. System Restore will affect Windows system files, programs, and registry settings only.

For System Restore steps, you can refer to the URL mentioned: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/products/features/system-restore

Screen Saver Turns Off

The computer is 10 dys old. The problem came with it.

Dell Tech Support is NOT the place to go for help: hence my posting here.

Anything running in the background came as manufacturer's standard software. I have added nothing that did not come with the original purchase except MS Office, McAfee Anti-Virus Plus, and a couple of games that do not run in the background.

Gte rid of KrapAfee, set the screensaver timer to 2 minutes, do not let the monitor turn off. Test and repost your results.

Are you using a wireless mouse ?

Use MSE and Malwarebytes, that`s it.

Well, yes, I am using a wireless mouse. I also operate my Dell desktop, which also uses Windows 7 Home Premium, and McAfee Antivirus Plus, using a wireless mouse, and do not experience the problem on that computer. Maybe a registry problem on this laptop?
