Windows 7: Copied items not being retained in buffer

I'm not sure where to put this question, so I thought that I would start here in the General Discussion and go from there.

I have two different Windows 7 machines having the exact same issue. I will copy something for pasting. Sometimes it gets retained in the buffer, but a lot of times the buffer is empty when I go to paste and I have to recopy the item. It doesn't mater if I use the CNTL-C, CNTL-V or right click copy/paste.

I believe that this started sometime during the summer, but I don't remember for sure. At first it was just annoying, but now I'm started to get frustrated because it seems to happen a lot. I'm suspecting patches, but I don't know for sure. Anyone else experience this problem?
