Is Akamai Netsession potentially harmful?

I don't know if I posted in the right section, but I really dont know what Akamai is, it just keeps popping up and it doesn't help that it popped up around the time my laptop started crashing daily.

You must have some Adobe products. I've never see it on my PC but have on my Mac. It is used by Adobe as a download manager.
