Do I really need to initiate the HP Recovery disk service?

Hi everyone, my new HP PC keeps bugging me to start the HP Recovery disk service in case i have a problem, "It will allow me to restore the factory OS and drivers and software". It says if not i will have to buy the disk later. But...

I already have the 4 disk set with my OS (and all the drivers and bloatware)
I am preparing to get an external HDD and install Macram Reflect free to make full snapshots in case of a catastrophic HDD failure.
In the interim i have all my documents/pics etc backed up offline with a free backup service.

I would like to just cancel it next time it pops up and asks me. Thanks!!

You sound like you're experienced enough to get the vastly superior Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7
followed by a backup solution of your own using imaging.

HP has the worst load of corrupting crapware and duplicate utilties in the industry.

Ok, Great!! I though it was a tad redundant of HP. Next time it pop's up i will cancel it out right.

You can turn off the nag message by establishing a Clean Boot since it is likely one of the list of HP bloatwares larded into the msconfig>Startup and >Services. Clean Up Factory Bloatware
