Since my re-installation of Windows 7 Pro x64 I have not been able to move the windows slide show over to the secondary monitor. It's a strange problem as I was able to do it before the reinstall with the current settings but now it does not want to move to the second monitor. Here's the issue:
Doesn't work:
Native resolutions (1680 x 1050 primary and 1280 x 1024) and the secondary monitor aligned directly to the left (or right) of the primary monitor and the slide show will not move from the primary monitor.
Does work:
Any resolution other than native on EITHER primary or secondary monitors allows the slide show to move freely. Switching the secondary (1280 x 1024) to be the primary allows the slide show to be moved freely. Additionally offsetting the monitors even slightly, currently the secondary monitor aligned below the primary monitor and even at native resolutions this works. The only problem with this setup is the slide show will chop off the offset amount which I don't want if possible.
What I've tried:
Different refresh rates, old/older/new/newest video drivers all with clean installs, swapping DVI ports on the back of the computer. None of it works with the primary 1680 x 1050 monitor acting as the primary and the 1280 x 1024 acting as the secondary and with zero offset.
It's driving me nuts, I'm not sure if one of the most recent updates did me in or not or if something is new in this install as overall the video drivers are the same and its the same version (sans updates in the past 2 weeks) of Windows 7 I had on the computer before. I haven't been able to see this problem elsewhere on the forums but trying to see what else I can try before I just give up and try reinstalling Windows again as everything else works.
