Does anyone know where the jump lists are stored? It's got to be in the registry somewhere, but I can't find it.

They're stored in C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\AutomaticDestinations

I am not a coder. I am beginning to think that Windows uses a file's extension to ref a prog's AppID to define the menu presented. The files are stored in Recent as always - what the JumpList does is PFM.
I am certainly not spot on.

Now I half-know more about JumpLists than I can ever use. I have always half-known to wait for you and your tools.
So if I wanted to manually add or edit jump list items, how would I do that?
