New laptop will not stay asleep
Hello again. My old laptop's gpu fried recently, so i picked up this Toshiba Satellite S855. Working great so far, running Windows 7 Home Premium (x64) and the only issue is that whenever I shut the lid or press the power button to make the computer sleep, it doesn't seem to want to. It falls asleep for about 2 seconds, then wakes itself back up. I've tried setting the system to hibernate on those conditions, and get the same result. I read elsewhere that the usual culprit is the network adapter. I made sure they are not allowed to awaken the computer to no avail, then disabled both LAN and ethernet devices, still the same result. I also made sure the keyboard and mouse I have plugged in cannot awaken the computer, as well as disconnecting everything from all the ports I have. This thing still will not sleep for more than 2 seconds. Not sure if it's a Windows 7 issue or if it should be directed to Toshiba, but I figured I'd try here first, as it seems most people here actually speak English. Any help is appreciated.
new laptop, Windows 7 home premium, sleeps for 2 seconds, then wakes up
outside stimuli ruled out
network adapter awakening ruled out
proper sleep settings confirmed in power options
tried hibernate, same result
