    Deleting

    How do you delete a stubborn file that says it can't delete because it's open elsewhere ?.

    Try Sysinternals' Autoruns or ProcessExplorer. If the file shows up on either list, unticking it should afford you the opportunity to delete it.

    Is everything closed when you try to delete the file? What file are you trying to delete, is it related to third-party program?

    Sometimes it will help if you reboot.

    No one can tell you what you can or can not remove or should or should not remove unless we know what you are trying to delete.

    Everybody hold your horses,found the answer under the "The Elder Greek" by using Command Prompt and Taskmgr.exe and wonder of wonders it works.When I downloaded Process Explorer it also loaded me with a load of junk,and then it did'nt work.

    Is the Devolo program been removed? Have you removed Process Explorer and the other 'junk files', what files did it add?

    So, is the file deleted?

    Process Explorer doesn't install a bunch of junk, unless you went to a 3rd party download site. It was created and developed by Mark Russinovich a highly respected developer who used to run Sysinternals prior to his employment at MS. It is a great replacement for Windows Task Manager with enhanced options and tools.

    Following is the direct link for downloading Process Explorer;
