FontCache DelayedAutoStart registry disappeared after Windows update

    Hi,

I need to deploy Windows 7 Ultimate updates to an isolated Industrial Control System. It hadn't had any update since 2014 nor SP1. After exhaustive update I have discovered that it was no longer possible to set FontCache service to Auto - Delayed Start,...looking closer at the issue I found that the DelayedAutoStart registry had disappeared. I have tried to restore as suggested by this post but it still does not let me set it to Auto - Delayed Start (Recommended settings). I have searched the community for similar issue but cannot find similarities...if anybody has an idea, you are very welcome :)!

    Thanks in advance,

    Hi, M U N

Not really standard proceedure, but as its an isolated system.
Change the start parameter in services to start after Netframework, (its delayed)
    OR
uncheck it via system config >>start-up>> services.
then create a scheduled task to start it after Netframework.

    Thanks for the tip Roy,

However, there is a script running on the system that is checking for the status of all services. I can't use any workaround :-( !

    I will keep digging.

    Thanks again
