Windows 8 - Versions - Need an preview installation?

I am thinking of buying the new windows 8 pro but one thing is bothering me. I have being reading about it and it appears to need an previews installation, so you actually need to make two installations to have an OS running now. In addition to that appears to be needed an previews activated windows, so if you will buy a PC and install the windows 8 you will need to also have an non OEM windows installed.
    Is that right?

    Thank you!

    No.

I have no idea what "an previews installation" is.

I think you are reading about an upgrade installation, which, in theory, needs to have an existing, activated Windows OS installed.

    Thank you for your replay.
I think the seller sold me an upgrade version only, because it does not accept the key that came with it after a clean installation.
The black box version of Windows 8 is the update only?

If you bought this through eBay, you may have acquired one of the MANY bogus versions of Win8 floating around -- ALL of which claim to activate, when in fact, NONE of them do.

Plus, I thought in Win8, since it does NOT have the 30-day "grace period" that Win7 had, you have to enter a key DURING the installation/upgrade process. If you didn't, that's another indication that it may have been a "pirated" copy that had a bogus key already inserted into the image.

I just returned the Windows, but still don't know what happened.
I found a way of activating the W8 but after returning it. Still it should go smooth without workarounds.
I will post how to do it when I go home.
I will keep the 7 for now.
    Thank you for the help!
