StickyNotes usage problem once installed on Win7Ultimate X86

As you all probably know, StickyNotes doesn't exist in the aforementioned version of Win7. I had a stickynot.exe file from an old windows copied and pasted into system32 on my current Win.
As of now, the app works but only in creating notes, not deleting them!!!
That's not what I was going for!
So, I'm wondering if there was some additional app extension file I was supposed to copy together with the .exe file, so it would work properly...
Please, help me figure it out?

Welcome again to Seven Forums lovelyjewels. You say Sticky Notes doesn't exist in Ultimate? Why do you say this? Ultimate come with Sticky Notes, or is supposed to:

Sticky Notes is available only in the Home Premium, Professional, Ultimate, and Enterprise editions of Windows 7.

You might try running the System File Checker, and see if it will recreate the original stickynot.exe (Save a copy of your current in case you want to use it again)

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Sometimes people have to enable Tablet PC Components to get sticky notes to work

Windows Features - Turn On or Off

Scroll down to Tablet PC Components and put a check next to it, then restart your system. But I would run the SFC as you should have already had the correct file in System32.

    thanx for the detailed reply!
however, im past the tabletPC check, and also past the sfc check - there was no stickynot.exe file in the designated folder, thats why i went and got a copy of it from the old installation. actually, i saw someone else (here or elswhere, i dont remember) that had the same problem w/this particular win7.
thats why i hoped to get the app running from the .exe file but apparently its a bit crippled as it is... doesnt delete notes and also doesnt give the colors options.
so, any ideas about what i need to do to get the new file working properly?
