Newb Questions About Dual Monitor Config

O.K. I finally was able to install both Intel IGPU and AMD vidcard on my ASUS Z77 V Pro, both enabled. Intel graphics drivers on IGPU and AMD drivers on 7970 DVI-D vidcard, 24" Dell on PCIe (default) and 22" Viewsonic on IGPU VGA.

So, I fire it up and I have desktop and icons and taskbar on monitor #1 (Dell with O/S)) and just desktop theme on Viewsonic.

Now this may sound stupid, but how does this work?
    I use extended display right?
    Should I use same resolutions?
Would dif size monitors be an issue?
Is Catalyst CC or Win 7 display better to use for config?

I fooled around using both Catalyst control center and Win 7 display and somehow got the desktop icons onto screen #2 and just taskbar on screen #1. Then when I clicked on any taskbar icon on screen #1 it opened in screen #2
How did I do that - if I wanted to do it on purpose? lol

    Correct.

Use the native resolution of each monitor.

    No.

    Either or. Start with CCC.

To 'determine' which screen some apps open on, simply open the app - drag it to the screen you want, max and min a few times and then it should remeber to open on that screen next time.
