    my pictures folder


    Suddenly my pictures folder is gone. I searched for it using windows explorer and didn’t delete it. How do I get it back?

    Files don't just vanish. It has to be there. I don't know how we could tell you how to find it. Just look on the partition where it was before and see what you find.

    you could try resetting the folders to default. Open up the library icon, click organize, select folder and search options, in the general tab, click restore defaults.

    Try using a different search utility. I find Agent Ransack, which is free, from Mythicsoft to be a good replacement for the built-in program. You can download it from the following site, if you're interested;

    Hello Herm,

    Open an elevated command prompt, copy and paste the command below into it, and press Enter to see if that restores your C:\Users\My Pictures folder.
    attrib +r -s -h "%USERPROFILE%\Pictures" /S /D
    If not, then you can use OPTION TWO in the tutorial below to hopefully restore it.

    My pictures folder is empty


    My pictures folder is empty. I didn’t delete it and show hidden files is turned on properties shows it contains over 1MB. How do I get the pictures back?

    Try using this. If some malicious software has hidden your files, it should get it back.
