Windows 7: Folder view settings not saving !

that has movies and its view is "details" i changed it to videos or any it doesn't change

Is this folder on a removable drive? If so, then that may be why. Folder views are not remembered on removable drives when they are disconnected or turned off.

Is this a library? If not, then what's the full path to the folder?

Sorry i missed that. ...........

Its not a removable drive ..........
Few days back it was working fine " i was able to save and switch view "

I always turn off system restore so i cannot go back in time

Is your 80GB hard drive nearly full? If so that may be why some settings aren't saved.
If not maybe a Repair Install is in order.

drives one 20GB free other 8GB free

dont have a source to repair install ........... Net also sux to download a ne copy ......

Beret,

If you like, you might take a look through the tutorial below to see if it may be able to help free up enough HDD space so that your folder views may hopefully work again.

Recycle bin folder view settings will not stick
I want to keep a "details" view in the recycle bin of Windows 7 Home Premium. I had no trouble doing that until a couple of days ago. Now, the recycle bin wants to show "tiles" view. Always. There is a dropdown list on the upper right of the recycle bin where you can choose the setting....

Hey guys, Is there any way to make a reg file that I can tweak ALL the windows explorer views to show just the following: Name | Size | Date modified http://img826.imageshack.us/img826/4108/win7v.png Windows drives me crazy with it's "defaults" for various views. Any help appreciated.

Changing folder view settings to subfolders only?
Hi, is there a way to set a folders options like viewing icons and having all the subfolders inherit those settings? I know I can go to organize, folder and search options, view and then apply to folders...but I don't want ALL folders with this view, just this folder and subfolders.

I just got windows 7 a few weeks ago and wanted to know if it remembers the folder views as well as xp ? When i had vista and i would configure all my folders,the sizes of the folders and the icons inside would rearrange and get all disconfiguered again.Like if i set some folders with medium icons...
