    Windows Start up, Error 0xc0000098

Alright so I have a small situation.

It says Windows has failed to start. Underneath it has:

    File: \Windows\system32\DRIVERS\avgrkx64.sys

    Status: 0xc0000098

I have tried doing a system repair with f8, but the option does not show up.

I have also put a windows 7 CD in but it wont boot, it just goes to a screen that says start windows normally or safe mode, right after that error pops up.

Anyone have an idea how I can get a fresh windows 7 installed on the computer now?

I have tried putting launch parameters in bios to the CD drive, doesn't make a difference.

Can you boot to Safe Mode with or without networking via F8 at boot time? If so, uninstall AVG and see if that solves the problem.

    Problem solved!

Had to remake a iso cd of windows 7, then I made the bios boot from the CD drive and it worked!

Will it boot without the DVD now?
