How do I downgrade back to windows 7 after upgrading to windows 8 Pro

OK on the key.

Try the method suggested by WHS for accessing recovery.

If it fails, you likely have to do a clean install by downloading the ISO from mydigitallife.info.

I assume that is Windows Home Premium 64 bit that you have?

If so, you need X17-58997.iso from this link; scroll down till you see it:

Official Windows 7 SP1 ISO from Digital River « My Digital Life

That will give you a new install WITHOUT whatever else Acer may have included with the machine.

You will need to back up all of your personal data or you will lose it.

Ok well I alt-f10 on start up but my monitor has power saving feature on it which I cannot see how to turn off when I navigate the menu. It means the monitor doent light up straight away when pc is turned on, I tried hitting it repeatidly anyway (alt-f10, not my pc) but pc just started up as normal.

Im not to worried about a clean install as the machine came with very little on it anyway and as I said earlier my old machine with all my data is still good (but slow) so I can migrate all file settings etc again via easy transfer yes?

Thankyou. I have tried the f10 from boot but to no avail.
Downloading the digital river win 7 now, can I use a flash pen to install rather than cd?

I did a little looking through Google that implied that you might be able to access Packard Bell recovery by holding down F11 key when restarting. You might try that.

Recovery will of course wipe out everything, so you need to back up before doing it.

I have no idea about alt F10.

Not sure what you are referring to by "migrate all settings". If you do a clean install via the ISO download you will have to reinstall ALL programs.

Easy transfer is not particularly reliable and I would not count on it for anything.

Generally, for a clean install:

Go to Packard Bell web site and download the LAN or Ethernet driver for your PC so you can definitely establish a network connection after a clean install. You might already have this driver on a CD provided with your PC??

Back up all personal data to some other location.

Burn that ISO to a disc.

Disconnect all hard drives other than the one that will receive Windows 7.

Disconnect all external devices other than monitor, keyboard, mouse.

Boot from the burned ISO disc and follow the prompts to install Win 7.

When installation completes, re-establish network connection, and update Windows from Windows Update site.

Reinstall your programs. Copy your data back from the backup location.

Everything you need is here to get a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7

Just to know for sure if it' works you can look on the first boot screen for the key to press to run Factory Recovery. If it gives one try tapping the key to see if it will start. If not you can wipe all partitions during install as shown in the tutorial.
