    Please help!

Suddenly my laptop won't allow me to open any folders at all. I can't even open the control panel. I've tried a full system scan and it was fine. My laptop won't let me restore to an earlier point for some reason and this is driving me crazy. I've been on the internet all day trying to find an answer. Please can someone advise me?

When did this first happen and what did you do immediately before it happened?

You state you did a full system scan. What kind of scan?
    Can you do this.
SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

What do you mean by "I've tried a full system scan"? Did you scan with an anti-virus program, an anti-malware program or both? What program(s) did you use? The symptoms you describe are very often associated with malware.

If every thing is the way you and Windows 7 want it to be I would create a new restore point and a backup.
    System Restore Point - Create

Backup Complete Computer - Create an Image Backup
